Michael Pedersen

Michael is a prize-winning Scottish poet, writer, & animateur. He has published two highly acclaimed collections of poetry with Polygon Books and his latest, The Cat Prince and other poems, was published by Corsair in 2024 and won The Books Are My Bag award for best poetry.

His debut memoir, Boy Friends, was a Sunday Times Critics Choice and shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish National Book Awards and published by Faber in 2022. He was awarded a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship and was recently Writer in Residence at the University of Edinburgh, and Edinburgh's Makar. His debut novel, Muckle Flugga, was published by Faber in 2025, and was an Observer Book of the Year and shortlisted for the Saltires and The Author’s Club Best First Novel.
